Brooklyn, NY is a long way from northwestern Ohio but, when the call went out for help in this unprecedented international health crisis, Caitlin McAnall was among the many “heroes without capes” to respond.

A Physician’s Assistant with Mitchell Dermatology in the Toledo area, Caitlin was recently named Clinical Director of Health Promotion and Healthy Athletes for Special Olympics Ohio. She is now temporarily assigned to Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, offering extra help in one of the places it is needed most. She is a part of the army of health care professionals who have answered the call, whether at home or from afar, to help treat those infected with the coronavirus.

Caitlin recently told us, “Despite numbers seeming to improve a little, New York can never have enough supplies right now, … it’s so hard to predict what will happen next.”

Upon completion of her assignment in New York, Caitlin will have to self-quarantine for two weeks when she returns home to Ohio.
