WHAT – The 2024 Special Olympics Ohio State Flag Football Tournament

WHO – Over 250 athletes and coaches representing 23 teams from 17 local, community-based Special Olympics Ohio organizations will participate. These include: All Star Training Club (2), Ashland County Dragons, Columbus Comets (2), Crawford County Chargers, Defiance County Tigers, Erie County Bucks, Fayette County Dragons (2), Hancock County, Henry County Cougars, Kent (2), Lake County (2), Lucas County Lightning, Marion County Hawks, Newark Tigers, Pickerington Jaguars, Westerville Wolves (2), and Wood County Wildcats.

WHEN – Saturday & Sunday, October 19th & 20th; Competitions start at 10am on Saturday, 9am on Sunday.

WHERE – SPIRE Academy (5201 SPIRE Circle, Geneva, OH 44041)

WHY – The weekend of October 19th and 20th, Special Olympics Ohio will host the State Flag Football Tournament at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva. The State Flag Football Tournament is one of four competitions spread across Ohio that make up the 2024 State Fall Games. Athletes with intellectual disabilities will compete in 5v5 traditional and Unified flag football games over the weekend. This is the second year that Special Olympics Ohio has partnered with the SPIRE Academy to host the event. Both organizations are looking forward to celebrating our athlete’s accomplishments!
