Special Olympics Ohio Athlete Leader, Athlete Input Council Chair, and Board Member Tara Williams has been selected to serve as a Global Strategy Champion and will be one of two U.S. Special Olympics Athletes to participate in the planning of Special Olympics’ next Global Strategic Plan.
“I am beyond proud and so excited for this,” said Tara. “My dream has always been to be more involved in Special Olympics as an Athlete Leader and to be able to see this dream come true at a new level is something so special to me!”
Tara will serve as a Co-Strategy Champion along with Ken Melvin, an Athlete Leader from Special Olympics Indiana. They will work alongside other Athlete Leaders, Special Olympics staff, volunteers, and stakeholders from all over the world to facilitate greater input and discussion about the future of the Movement and the direction of Special Olympics in the coming years.
