Biggest Event of the Year!

Special Olympics Ohio prepares for its biggest event of the year, the State Summer Games, to be held Friday through Sunday, June 26-28, in Columbus. Some 4,000 athletes and coaches are currently training for competition in this year's Games. The Games bring together athletes for competition in 11 sports: Aquatics, Athletics (track and field), Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Gymnastics, Power Lifting, Roller Skating, Soccer, Softball Throw, Tennis and Volleyball. Law Enforcement Torch Run Starts June 21

The 2009 Ohio Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics presented by The Kroger Company begins Sunday, June 21, at Put-in-Bay, on Lake Erie. The Torch Run is the single largest fund-raising activity for Special Olympics Ohio and its more than 22,000 participating athletes. MORE

Cleveland Indians “Fill The House” for Special Olympics Ohio

The Cleveland Indians are going to “Fill The House” for 13 charities and Special Olympics Ohio/Greater Cleveland is among those selected. This community initiative will give Special Olympics the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the organization through ticket sales and day of game presence on August 19, 2009. Special Olympics is currently selling discounted tickets for this game and the Indians will donate $5 for every ticket that is sold by SOOH as well as donate $1 for each person who attends the game on August 19th.
