Become A Mentor!

Athlete Leadership 1

Our Athlete Leaders need you!

Athlete Leadership is a program that trains athletes to serve in meaningful leadership roles both on and off the playing field. Athletes lead the way as the voices of the movement, taking on meaningful roles in their communities and educating the world about the potential of people with intellectual disabilities.

Just as athletes need sports coaches to help them develop fitness and sports skills, they need mentors to help them develop leadership skills.

All Athlete Leadership Mentors must:

  • Complete a Class A Volunteer Application.
  • Make a one-year commitment to working with an Athlete Leader.
  • Attend Athlete Leadership trainings with their Athlete Leader.
  • Ensure that the Athlete Leader has transportation to and from trainings.
