The 48th Special Olympics Ohio State Summer Games are set for June 23-25 at The Ohio State University. During that weekend more than 2,600 athletes will compete in Athletics (track & field), Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Roller Skating, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball.

Athletes and coaches from all parts of Ohio will be housed in residence halls on campus and most sports will hold their competitions at OSU venues. The two exceptions: Bowling competitions will take place at Sawmill Lanes in the Dublin area and Roller Skating will be held at United Skates of America on the east side of Columbus.

Special Olympics Ohio's 2017 State Summer Games will officially begin on Friday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. with the Opening Ceremonies in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Following the Parade of Athletes, the Summer Games Opening Ceremony will conclude with the dramatic entrance of the torch bearing the Flame of Hope into the stadium. By that point the Flame will have traveled hundreds of miles throughout the Buckeye State in the care of the dedicated officers of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ohio. Many of those law enforcement officers will be on hand to escort the torch into the stadium where it will be handed off to the Special Olympics Ohio athletes chosen to ignite the Flame of Hope cauldron, signifying the start of the State Summer Games.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 Special Olympics Ohio State Summer Games!
